Alfa-A Original is a high fibre feed for horses based on alfalfa, especially for horses working, breeding and young during the growth period. It provides high-quality fiber, natural protein and energy released gradually, so it can be a valuable element of the daily diet of the horse in light and moderate work.
The base of the feed is cut alfalfa, which stands out for its high digestibility and natural nutrient content. It is a source of valuable protein supporting the development and maintenance of normal muscle mass, which is why Dengie Alfa-A Original will also work as feed for sports horses, young horses and requiring good fitness.
Energy value chaff is 10 MJ A kilo of digestible energy, which corresponds to the energy level characteristic of many feeds with moderate calorie. At the same time, the starch content is only 2%, so energy comes primarily from fibre rather than from a large quantity of cereals.
Alfalfa is also valued in horse nutrition due to its natural calcium content and high quality protein. The high proportion of the fiber promotes longer chewing and can support the proper functioning of the digestive tract. Alpha-A Original can be used as an alternative to parts of traditional cereal feed or as an additive to increase the proportion of valuable fibre in the dietary dose.
Feed has been covered with a light layer of molasses, which increases its tastyness. Thanks to this, it will also work well in horses with less appetite. Chaff can be used either alone or in combination with granules, musli or dancer.
The recommended dosage is up to 500 g feed for each 100 kg horse's body weight per day. This means a maximum of approximately 1,5 kg for a horse weighing 300 kg, 2 kg for a horse weighing 400 kg, 2,5 kg for a horse weighing 500 kg and 3 kg for a horse weighing 600 kg. The exact amount should be adjusted according to body weight, condition, level of work and other nutrients.
