Equilac is a tasty mixture for foaled and lactating mothers, developed for the proper course of the final stage of pregnancy, maintaining the good condition of the mare and supporting lactation after foaling. A properly balanced protein and energy ratio helps to cover increased nutritional needs, and the content of amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements supports foetal development and milk production.
The formula includes, among other things, lactose-fermented barley and maize flakes, alfalfa, fruit fibre, beet pulp beetroot, oilseeds, linseed, beer yeast, bran, carrots and a mixture of herbs, including mint, thyme, rosemary, nettle, camomile and coriander. The addition of cold-pressed oils increases the energy value of doses, while lysine and methionine provide the amino acids needed for mare and developing foal.
The ST.HIPPOLYT Equilac 20kg musli feed will work as a feed for high-fealed mare, musli after foaling, and a blend supporting the quality and quantity of milk during lactation. It can be a good choice for breeders who wonder what to feed a mare in the last months of pregnancy and how to supplement her diet after giving birth without having to combine many nutritional additives on their own.
The manufacturer recommends the gradual introduction of feed from the eighth month of pregnancy. From the ninth to the eleventh month should be administered approximately 400–500 g on 100 kg on a daily basis, while in the first months of lactation the dose can be gradually increased to a maximum of 600 g on 100 kg on a daily basis. The daily portion should be divided into several smaller meals and adjusted to the condition of the mare, the quality of hay and the entire food dose.

Nutritional recommendations:
It may be complementary to the volumetric and/or pasture feed. From the 8 of the month of pregnancy, gradually replace the dose of solid feed (owsa) and/or grass.
From 9 to 11 of the month pregnant approx. 400-500g on 100 kg horse's weight per day.
The daily dose should be divided into several smaller portions. Oats can be introduced as an additional complement to the mixture.
From the first to the third month of lactation, the dose should be gradually increased to max. 600 g on 100 kg body weight. Lactation peaks at the third month after foaling.
From the fifth month of lactation, the dose should be gradually reduced until complete withdrawal. The mixture should then be replaced with basic feed.
