Gastro Fiber Beet is a beet-based granules, designed for animals with sensitive digestive tract, including horses with EGUS and ulcerative disease. The product is a valuable source of fibre and slow release of energy, so it will also work well in older animals, lean, nervous, sports and those with limited access to good quality hay or pasture. Low starch and sugar content, below 10%, also allows to use it in low-sugar diets.
The formula has been enriched with ingredients aimed at the comfort of the digestive system. Aloes, grandmother fin, camomile, liquorice, Icelandic lichen and marjoram help support the gastrointestinal mucosa, and diatom earth according to the manufacturer promotes the stability of the intestinal environment. Yeast additive Saccharomyces cerevisiae provides proteins and beta-glucans, while macaws, blackberry, aronia, currant and apple marc increase the nutritional value and taste of the product.
MEBIO Gastro Fiber Beet can be used as a beet pulp for ulcer horses, an additional portion of fiber during the autumn-winter period, or an element of the diet of horses requiring energy without a large share of cereals. The manufacturer recommends administering 100–500 g to 100 kg body weight per day. It is best to feed the product after soaking: after pouring hot water it is ready after about 10 minutes, while using cold water after about 30–45 minutes. A serving of 100 g for a meal can also be given dry after thoroughly mixing with the solid feed or chaff.
