TrichoBiotin is a specialized supplement for horses in the form of micelar emulsion, designed for intensive support of hooves, skin and hair. The preparation will work especially during the mincing period, with poor quality hoove horn or breaking it, free growth of hair, and in situations of increased demand for biotin, zinc, sulphur and building amino acids. The manufacturer also recommends it to shaving horses and animals after skin problems.
The formula contains biotin, zinc chelate, MSM, methionine, cystine and lysine. The composition was further enriched with cherry oil, vitamin E, beta-carotene and extracts from violin and nettle. The combination of these ingredients provides the necessary substances for the synthesis of keratin, which is the primary building block of hair and hooves, while at the same time fostering the maintenance of proper skin condition.
The 1 liter of the product is available, among others. 1 200 000 µg biotins, 13 000 mg zinc, 30 000 mg MSM, 20 000 mg methionine, 20 000 mg Cysteines and 45 000 mg Lysine. Thanks to the concentrated formula, the supplement can be a valuable supplement to the diet of horses requiring improvement of the quality of hooves, fur and skin, especially in the absence of ingredients involved in the keratinisation process. Biotin HIPPOVETPharmacy TRICHOBIOTIN 1l is a liquid biotin for horses designed to support strong hooves, healthy skin and good quality hair. The formula combining biotin, zinc, MSM and amino acids will be a good choice for horses with fragile hooves, matt hair, during the mincing period and with increased demand for ingredients to support keratinisation.
The recommended daily preventive portion is 2 ml on 100 kg horse weight. In intensive application, the manufacturer recommends 5 ml on 100 kg body weight per day through 20–40 days. For a horse weighing 500 kg this corresponds to 10 ml per day preventively or 25 ml per day during intensive supplementation. The preparation may be administered with or directly into the mouth and should be shaken thoroughly before use. The intensive treatment should not last longer than 2 months; then the portion can be reduced to prophylactic.
Once opened, TrichoBiotin Horse should be stored in a cool and dark place at 2–8°C and used within 2 months. The manufacturer states that the preparation does not contain direct substances prohibited by the FEI, but for maximum safety recommends maintaining the 24-hour withdrawal before take-off.
