Calcium Sorbinum from Mebio is a natural preparation for horses, based on calcium derived from marine algae and crustaceans. It provides this element in and accompanying minerals and trace elements, supporting proper mineralization of bones and teeth. It can be used in both young horses during periods of intensive growth and in adult animals requiring mineral replenishment.
Calcium plays an important role in the proper functioning of muscles, nervous conduction and blood clotting processes. Natural marine minerals also contribute to maintaining the body’s acid-base balance and can help buffer the acidity of the stomach content. Therefore, the preparation may be a valuable part of the diet of horses with a tendency towards gastric hyperacidity, calcium absorption disorders, osteochondrosis and dental problems.
The formula contains algae calcium and cane molasses, which improves the taste of the product. The coated form of granules facilitates administration and promotes gradual release of minerals. The calcium content is 29,5%, magnesium 3,5%, phosphorus 1%, and sodium 1%. It also provides zinc, manganese, copper and naturally occurring marine minerals. Calcium MEBIO Calcium Sorbinum 10kg helps supplement mineral deficiencies, promotes the maintenance of strong bones and teeth and supports the proper functioning of muscles and nervous system. The product is free from doping according to FEI guidelines.
The recommended daily serving is 10–15 g for each 100 kg horse weight. For an animal weighing 500 kg, this corresponds to about 50–75 g per day. In justified cases, the dose may be increased, but with longer use it is worth considering the total supply of calcium and phosphorus throughout the diet. The manufacturer recommends consulting a nutritionist to accurately match the dosage. The preparation can be used long-term as an element of daily diet balance.
