Palatin Glyx-Wiese Musli is a low-sugar chaff in the form of musli for horses, which combines high fibre content with good taste and moderate energy value. It can be used in recreational and sports horses, older, lean, picky, allergic and vulnerable animals. Thanks to the low starch content, it will also work in feeding horses with a tendency to overweight and metabolic disorders.
The formula is based on hot air dried meadow grasses, herbs and legumes. It also contains beige flowers, camomiles, fennel, peppermint, dried apples, sunflower seeds, flaxseed and fermented carrots. The product does not contain alfalfa, soy or cereals, so it can be a good alternative to horses whose diet requires the restriction of these ingredients.
Chaff ST.HIPPOLYT Palatin Glyx-Wise Musli 15kg provides 11% raw protein, 18% fiber and 5% fat. The starch content is only 2,6%, 7,5% sugar, and 4,9% fructans. Valued omega-3 fatty acids derived, inter alia, from flaxseed may favour the condition of skin, hair and hooves. The high fibre content favours proper digestion and intestinal work, and intense apple-herd aroma encourages even more picky horses to eat.
Chaff can also be used as a tasty base for the administration of supplements and powdered medicines. After wetting with water, it binds fine ingredients, making it easier to mix them with feed. It will also work during transport, occupations, recovery and as a supplement to a diet based on lower quality hay.
The recommended daily dose is approximately 100–200 g product for each 100 kg horse's body weight as a supplement to the volumetric feed and the source of additional fibre. The manufacturer recommends a simultaneous addition to the diet with a suitable mineral-vitamin preparation, such as Semper Min.
