Palatin Glyx-Wiese Seniorfaser 15 kg is a soft, fine cut chaff for older animals and having difficulty chewing their feed thoroughly. The high fibre content and soft structure favor longer chewing and saliva production, which favours proper digestion. The product can also be used in ulcers, lean horses, during recovery and receiving low quality hay.
SSeniorfaser does not contain alfalfa, soy or cereals. Its composition is based on hot air dried meadow grasses, herbs and legumes, as well as cold-pressed oils, linseed, sunflower seeds, camomile, fennel and peppermint. Dust-free production technology makes the product also suitable for horses sensitive to dust and dust.
Chaff ST.HIPPOLYT Palatin Glyx-Wiese Seniorfaser 15kg contains 25% crude fibre, 10,5% proteins, 4% fat and only 3,4% starch and 7% sugar. The low starch content may be a valuable part of the diet of horses requiring the restriction of cereal feed, and a moderate energy value promotes safe replenishment of the food dose.
The product can be used as a basic feed in quantities of approximately 1,2–1,5 kg for each 100 kg body weight per day or as an addition to the daily food dose in quantities of approximately 800 g per day. According to the manufacturer, 1 kg Seniorfaser can replace 1 kg hay, which is why chaff is particularly useful for older horses having difficulty in collecting traditional volumetric feed.
