PodoGuard is a specialist hoof oil for horses, designed to maintain the correct moisture level, flexibility and good quality hoove horn. The formula combines nutrients and essential oils that penetrate the structure of the hoof and help protect them from both excessive dryness and too much humidity. Thanks to this, the preparation will be suitable for dry, cracking, weakened and exposed to frequent contact with water and mud.
In dry conditions, oil helps to reduce moisture loss from inside the hooves, which helps preserve its natural elasticity. Appropriate hydration is important for the quality of the horn and its correct growth, therefore regular use can be particularly useful in the tendency to crack and crush. The manufacturer also indicates that damaged hooves can gradually recover better condition with the growth of a new, healthy horn.
In a humid environment, the product forms a protective layer limiting the penetration of excess moisture and contact with micro-organisms. This is particularly important during long-term stay on wet paddocks or in the mud, where the horn and soles become softer and more vulnerable to damage. PodoGuard is therefore a universal hoof oil that can be used throughout the year, matching the application method to the environment.
In a dry environment, the manufacturer recommends applying Cavalor PodoGuard a few times a week to a clean and wet hoof to reduce moisture evaporation and help the condition of the cracked corner. Under wet conditions, the product should be applied to a clean and dry hoof several times a week. This product is for external use only.
