Copper has a beneficial effect on the maintenance in good condition of connective tissue (prisons, tendons), maturation of joint cartilage, strengthening immunity, and
facilitate the transport of iron in the body. It is a particularly important part of the diet in the development of young individuals and in the feeding of foal mares (last trimester).
Copper deficiency causes depigmentation of hair and skin, changes in bone resulting from poor collagen binding, and in foal anemia.
