Inulin is a polysaccharide characterized by probiotic properties, supporting proper bowel function and development of beneficial intestinal microflora. Its fermentation results in pH lowering acids in the intestines, helping to multiply beneficial bacteria and helping to limit the development of certain fungi and adverse organisms. This allows the product to be a valuable supplement to the diet of horses with a sensitive digestive system, after antibiotic therapy, with changes in nutrition or during periods of increased stress.
Inulin for horses can also improve the use of nutrients from feed and promote better absorption of calcium and magnesium from the gastrointestinal tract. The manufacturer also indicates it as support for flatulence, intestinal infections, metabolic problems, excessive weight, impaired condition, and during periods when the body requires additional support after the illness.
Regular administration helps stabilize intestinal microbes, supports digestive processes and can beneficially affect the general well-being and condition of the horse. The probiotic can be used in both sports and recreational subjects, especially with increased effort, convalescence or gastrointestinal microflora imbalance.
The product contains 100% inulin obtained from chicory root and is a form of easy to mix with powder feed. The recommended daily serving for a horse weighing 500–600 kg is 15–40 g. The included measuring measure contains approximately 20 g product. The inulin should be mixed with the compound feed, and it is worth starting with a smaller amount and gradually increasing the portion.
