Oats and grass seeds are those ingredients in the horse's diet that contain the unsaturated fatty acids necessary for normal metabolic transformation, shiny fur and the proper structure of the hooves. Fatty acids are also part of cell walls and contribute to the regeneration of nerve cells, organs and tissues, while providing a sugar-free source of energy recommended for horses sensitive to excess starch and sugar in the diet. According to the latest research by Kentucky Equine Research Institute (KER), vegetable oil reduces the glycemic index of a grain-rich diet, reduces blood sugar content, thereby contributing to productivity growth.
Subject to a delicate extrusion process
St. Hippolyt offers plant oils of the highest quality. They are pressed cold at a temperature lower than 40˚C, under moderate pressure, followed by a sedimentation procedure. This protects sensitive fatty acids contained in the oil from destruction as a result of thermal, chemical or mechanical damage. The raw materials used for the production of these oils come from certified organic farms free of contamination. High quality raw materials combined with a mild production process, make these oils have a unique taste and are rich in highly nutritious thickeners and other valuable ingredients.
Linseed oil has the highest concentration of omega-3 fatty acids from all vegetable oils. It is particularly difficult to process due to its high sensitivity to thermal processes. Delicate methods of extraction of linseed oil, used by St. Hippolyt provides a low level of harmful peroxide, making the product an ideal addition to the daily feeding of each horse.
The recommended feeding:
from 5-25 ml to 100 kg body weight per day as a feed additive.
