Copper Chelate is a supplement for horses containing copper in the form of amino acid chelate. This form is characterized by high bioavailability and stability in the digestive tract, so that it can be used effectively to supplement copper shortages and to accurately balance the food dose.
Copper plays an important role in the proper functioning of the horse’s body. It participates in the formation of red blood cells, supports the functioning of the immune system and participates in processes related to collagen and elastin production. It is also important for the condition of skin, hair, hooves, cartilage, bones, tendons and ligaments.
Supplement can be particularly useful for the observed copper shortages, during zinc supplementation, in iron-rich diets and in horses with problems of hair pigmentation, hoove quality or general skin and hair condition. In shortages, it is worth examining the entire food dose in advance, as copper interacts strongly with other micronutrients, especially zinc.
For an adult horse weighing approximately 500 kg, it is recommended to use 2–4 g daily for prophylactic supplementation. In the case of confirmed shortages, the manufacturer recommends a dose selection based on diet analysis, and indicatively you can use 6–10 g daily for about 30 days, then it is worth re-evaluated the level of the elements. With the problems of rotting hoof frogs or weak hooves, the manufacturer recommends 2 g Copper Chelate with 4,5 g Zinc Chelate. Small horses and ponies should receive proportionally fewer quantities. One 5 ml scoop contains approximately 4 g product and delivers 200 mg copper.

Analytical composition: raw protein 11%, raw fat 0%, raw fibre 0%, raw ash 11,5%, copper 50 g/kg.
