The NUVENA supplement is a supplement to the shortages of selenium, designed for horses requiring support in balancing a full-value food dose. The formula combines amino acid chelate of selenium with vitamin E for horses, thus supporting the absorption of this element and its use by the body.
The product will work particularly well in case of a shortage of selenium detected in the blood test, hair test, and also based on a diet analysis. If there is a deficiency, it is worth choosing the dose for the test results and the entire nutritional dose and consider re-examining blood tests after use.
Selenium plays an important role in the proper functioning of the body. It is part of glutathione peroxidase that belongs to enzymes that protect cell membranes against free radicals and damage external factors. Proteins called selenoproteins are involved in regulating the rate of oxidation, so selenium combined with vitamin E is crucial for cell protection.
NUVENA Selen E has a close connection to the immune function. Selenium participates in the body’s immune functions, stimulating white blood cell production and supporting the destruction of cells damaged by virus infection. It also helps to reduce the effects of bacterial toxins. Selenium deficiency may be associated with reduced immunity and established lymphopenia - the role of selenium in this case is particularly important.
Selenium determines the metabolism of thyroid hormones and supports its proper functioning. It is also important for the development and operation of muscles, therefore the preparation can be helpful in horses having problems developing muscle mass, suffering from muscle pain, slow-growing or subject to higher loads associated with intensive training. Selenium deficiency in foals and young horses may lead to muscle disorders such as food muscle dystrophy.
The NUVENA Selen E Chelate supplement also supports reproductive functions. Selenium regulates the production of red blood cells, affects the mare's reproductive cycle, maintenance of pregnancy and reproductive functions of stallions. Its deficiency can cause poor red blood cell parameters, decreased fertility, decreased condition, muscle problems, neurological symptoms, hair loss and other effects of deficiencies in the body. Amino acid chelate of selenium can beneficially influence its absorption, and vitamin E further supports the protection of cell membranes against oxidative stress.
The preparation can be used at a daily dose tailored to body weight, test results, work levels and the composition of the entire diet. In case of supplementation with selenium, it is particularly important to balance the diet accordingly, as an excess element may cause symptoms of overdose. Therefore, in the absence of a study, caution should be exercised and the recommended dosage should not be exceeded.

Method of use for large horses (500 kg)*:
- 10 g daily in case of preventive supply, without performing tests
- with the deficiencies identified, it is best to analyse the diet and select the dosage on this basis.
Alternatively, use 20-30 g product daily by 30 days depending on the test results.
It is recommended that blood tests be carried out again.
The attached 10 ml cup contains approx. 5g product and will deliver 0,5mg selenium and 750 IU vitamin E.

Method of preparation:
