RiceLein is a gluten-free supplemental feed for horses, developed as a concentrated source of energy derived mainly from fat and fibre. Thanks to the limited content of starch and sugars, it will work well in sports horses, which are difficult to maintain proper condition and animals with sensitive digestive tract.
The recipe is based on rice bran, which provides easily accessible energy without the need to increase the share of cereals per dose. The linseed additive enriches the fodder with valuable fats and mucosal substances, beneficial for the digestive tract. This allows RiceLein to be a good choice for horses requiring low starch and sugar supplements.
Feed is characterized by a high energy value – it provides 13 MJ with digestible energy per kilogram – with a content of starch and sugars below 10%. This composition allows to increase the calorie of the dose without the use of large amounts of traditional cereal feed.
RiceLein can also be used during gradual recovery of the condition in lean or weakened horses. The manufacturer shall also indicate it as a solution for horses with sensitive stomach and intestines and for animals in which it is desirable to limit starch and sugar in nutrition. The product is not mineralized, so it can be flexibly combined with other basic feed or appropriately selected mineral-vitamin preparation - the manufacturer recommends SemperMin. This makes it easier to adjust the entire food dose to the individual needs of the horse.
The recommended daily amount is approximately 200–300 g RiceLein for each 100 kg horse's weight. For a horse weighing 500 kg, this means about 1–1,5 kg product per day. Feed shall be served as a complement to hay and/or pasture green. One litre of product weighs approximately 670 g. In older horses, horses that eat catchy or have trouble chewing or swallowing, the manufacturer recommends soaking the feed prior to administration.
Composition: rice bran, chaff from hot air dried grass, maize sprouts, a mixture of linseed poppy and sunflower seeds, dried beet pulp beetroot, hydrothermal treated soya flakes.
Analytical composition: crude protein 18% , crude fat 14% , crude fibre 14,5% , crude ash 7% , digestible protein 137 g/kg , digestible energy 13 MJ/kg , metabolic energy 11 MJ/kg , starch and sugars below 10% , calcium 0,5% , phosphorus 0,8% sodium 0,06%.
