St.Hippolyt brand preparation is a supplement for horses containing organic form of high bioavailability selenium. It supports cell protection against oxidative stress, muscle regeneration, normal immune system functioning and reproductive functions. It can be used especially in sports horses, breeding horses and animals with a confirmed element deficiency.
Selenium is an important component of the horse's diet, which is involved in protecting the body against free radicals and maintaining the proper functioning of muscle tissue. Hesta Plus Selen will be perfect for intensively trained horses, slow-regenerating after exercise, exhibiting muscle stiffness and requiring support of immunity and fitness. Before starting supplementation, the manufacturer recommends the determination of selenium levels based on blood or hair tests.
The formula contains dried warm air chaff with grass, yeast products rich in RNA and nucleotide, Palatin soy, linseed, sunflower seeds, flax and sunflower oil, turmeric, vinegar and chicory inulin. Product supplies 17% crude protein, 13% fat and 14% fibre and the selenium content is 50 mg/kg. Small granules facilitate the measurement, mixing with feed and daily administration. Supplement ST.HIPPOLYT Hesta Plus Selen 1kg granules is a preparation supporting muscle regeneration, immunity, fertility and antioxidant protection. It may be a valuable supplement to the feeding of horses with a shortage of selenium, intensive labour and used in breeding.
The recommended daily dose is approximately 5 g for each 100 kg horse weight. The horse weighing 500 kg can therefore receive approximately 25 g supplement daily. The product should be administered for five days a week and then taken a two-day break. One scoop contains approximately 12 g of the preparation. Due to the narrow range between the demand and excess selenium, the dosage should be determined on the basis of the test results and the total content of this element in the diet.
