Collavit is a compound feed supplement for horses that provides hydrolyzed collagen and high dose vitamin C. The product was developed with a view to supporting the movement apparatus, in particular tendons, ligaments and joint cartilage. It can be used in sports, young, older and animals during regeneration and rehabilitation.
Hydrolysed collagen is a source of amino acids that are a building material for aggregate tissues. Its composition includes glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, which support the correct structure and elasticity of tendons, ligaments and cartilage. Regular supplementation can be particularly useful in horses undergoing intense exertion and exposed to overloading of the movement apparatus.
Vitamin C is involved in the correct synthesis of collagen, therefore its presence complements the effect of the preparation. Collavit C can support natural soft tissue regeneration processes after effort, help maintain their elasticity and endurance and form part of daily horse supplementation requiring additional joint and tendon support.
Animals with a weight of approximately 550 kg are advised to administer 15 g daily, corresponding to the level of 4 on the included measuring cup. The ponies should receive approximately 8 g per day, i.e. the level of 2 on the measuring measure. The supplement should be mixed with the feed.
