Ted Narracott buys a horse named Joey at the market. It turns out that he is an incredibly intelligent and courageous animal that is quickly tamed. Hence, between him and Albert, the son of a farmer, immediately flourishes a hot friendship.
World War I is coming. Ted has to sell Joey out of the British Army. Being a cavalry horse, however, the horse yearns for his master all the time. Albert also goes to the front and has great hope that he will find his four-legged friend.
