Mycosorb is a feed additive for horses intended to reduce the absorption of mycotoxins present in the feed. The product binds harmful toxins in the digestive tract so that they can be removed from the body along with the faeces. Its action covers a broad spectrum of mould metabolites, which makes it possible to provide valuable support in feeding horses exposed to reduced-quality or contaminated with mould toxins.
The product is insoluble in water powder. The manufacturer stresses that Mycosorb has no affinity for vitamins and micronutrients, so that its use should not limit the availability of these ingredients at the dietary dose. It can be used as part of the daily feeding of horses requiring additional protection against adverse effects of mycotoxins.
The preparation against mycotoxins for horses may be particularly useful in situations where the presence of moulds and toxins in hay, cereals or compound feed is suspected. Limiting their absorption helps to reduce the adverse effect on the horse's condition, performance and proper functioning. Mycosorb also shows an anti-allergic effect, according to the description of Mycosorb.
The composition includes yeast products and maize gluten feed. The product contains 23% crude protein, 1% crude fiber, 13% crude oils and fats, 7,4% crude ash, 1,4% lysine, 0,4% methionine and 0,12% sodium.
The recommended daily serving is 10–30 g. The anti-allergic preparation ALLTECH Mycosorb 1kg should be thoroughly mixed with feed and used as a supplement to a properly balanced diet.
