Luzerne Mix is a high quality chaff with alfalfa with added sunflower and flax oil. The high fibre content promotes longer chewing and increased salivary secretion, helping to naturally buffer the acidic environment of the stomach. The product will work well in horses requiring support of the digestive tract and eating too fast.
Chaff contains 13% crude protein and 27,7% fiber. It can be a valuable part of the diet of young horses, sports, breeding and having difficulty maintaining normal body weight. Low starch content, below 1%, and sugar at the level of 4,5% allows you to increase the proportion of fiber without a large amount of easily digestible carbohydrates.
Chaff ST.HIPPOLYT Luzerne Mix 15kg does not contain cereals or molasses and is not mineralized. It can be added to the solid feed, especially oats or barley, to increase the volume of the meal and prolong its time of intake. The manufacturer also recommends it to allergic horses and fed unilaterally as a variety of diets.
The composition includes warm air dried alfalfa chaff and sunflower oil and flax. The recommended daily serving is 150–500 g for each 100 kg body weight as a supplement to hay, straw or pasture. One litre of product weighs approximately 200 g.
