Pianissimo from the Cavalor brand is a no-owsy musli for nervous and sensitive sports horses, designed to support mental balance, proper digestion and comfort of the digestive tract. Feed contains a lot of fiber, moderate amounts of sugars and starch, and increased levels of magnesium, so that it will work well in horses that are stimulated, stressed, tension-responsive to training or have a sensitive stomach and intestine. The manufacturer classifies Pianissimo as 1 level feed for sensitive horses.
Long fibers, including hay from thyme, prolong chewing time, promote increased saliva production and support proper intestinal peristalsis. The formula also contains pre-, pro- and postbiotics that help maintain beneficial intestinal microflora and a stable gastrointestinal environment. The moderate contribution of easily digestible starch reduces the risk of getting too much of it into the colon, which is of particular importance in horses susceptible to digestion.
Pianissimo does not contain oats, so it can be a good choice for horses that do not need a violent supply of energy. The use of expanded and extruded ingredients improves the digestibility of starch and the use of nutrients. Increased magnesium content supports the proper functioning of the nervous system and muscles, which can be helpful in nervous horses, strained or exposed to stressful situations.
The manufacturer recommends administering 400–650 g to 100 kg body weight per day. For a horse weighing 600 kg, this means 2,4–3,9 kg per day. Daily portions should be divided into several smaller meals, preferably administered after volumetric feed. Good quality hay or other volumetric feed and constant access to fresh water should remain on the basis of feed.
