The fodder has been composed for foal mares since the ninth month of pregnancy and for mares during lactation. This period is the most incriminating for the mother's body. It is characterized by a drastic increase in nutrient demand, in particular for energy and protein, as well as individual micro and macronutrients and some vitamins. It is during this period of pregnancy that the foal increases the mass by approx. 60%, its internal organs grow and eventually the bone and nervous system is formed. At this time, copper must also be stored in the liver of the foal, as the breast milk contains a small amount of this element.
Another 200 kg takes a foal just a few months after the birth, which puts great emphasis on the quality of lactation in the mare. The foals after birth are supplied with a set of nutrients in the most safe and natural way - with breast milk. The production of milk is a very heavy burden for the mare's body, and additionally it is burdened with the stress of childbirth and care of the newborn.
The Nuba Mammy Mammy Muslim feed covers all the above mentioned needs, which affects:
-health and health of the mare during pregnancy and lactation
-healthy growth of the fetus
- correct development of the foal after birth
- resistance of the young organism to infections
-rich lactation and excellent milk quality
-the fertility of the mare
-rapid regeneration of the mare after childbirth
Feed contains a large amount of well-absorbed protein, the supply of which during this period is so important for mare and foal. Particularly carefully composed were calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, which are necessary for the proper growth of the foal bone without harming the mother's body. The optimal content and mutual ratio of these minerals guarantees their adequate digestibility. Moreover, fatty acids, iron micronutrients, zinc, copper, manganese, as well as selenium and iodine and vitamins were appropriately balanced in feed composition to ensure optimum form of mare and healthy, balanced growth of foals. The musli used in accordance with the recommended dosage does not require additional general supplementation (in healthy horses, in the absence of previously identified significant shortages - if previously identified deficiencies may be necessary to supplement them).
Key features
-energy level high enough to meet the needs of mares
-Low starch dose in feed of more than 50 % compared to oats
-high level of protein from natural components with a very good amino acid profile
-additions to the limiting amino acids of lysine and methionine improves the absorption and use of protein by the body
-feed is based on alfalfa, known for its tastyness, good quality fiber, excellent absorbable protein and calcium, which is particularly important in breeding horses
-The cereals contained in the mousse are micronized thermally, which improves their digestibility and digestibility of the starch contained in them - such grains are also more tasty
-calcium, phosphorus and magnesium are supplied from organic sources, as well as well as well-absorbed additives to support the proper development of the growing organism
- zinc micronutrients, copper and selenium in Nuba Musli feed have the form of chelates, which increases their digestibility
-vitamin A is supplied as beta carotene, which prevents its overdose - Beta carotene, which reduces foetal resorption and the functioning of the ovaries, also improves the quality of colostrum
-full seeds of flax and sunflower add to the recipe of slow-release energy - are also an additive of polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which play a fundamental role in the proper development of the body
-fibrous components like alfalfa , bran beet pulp beetroot, sunflower shell, apple marc and dried vegetables add slow-release energy, cause longer chewing of feed, affect the health of the digestive system and the good condition of the bacterial flora of the intestine
-increased yeast content provides B vitamins and essential exogenous amino acids by improving the protein profile of the feed - it also improves the use of nutrients from administered feed
-probiotics used in Nuba Musli feed to Biogen®K - the highest quality probiotic preparation recommended by veterinarians - this probiotic composition contains the highest quality lyophilised micro-organisms with a specific concentration for the gastrointestinal tract of the horse (biogen company is a valued brand on the world market conducting research activities based on the latest technologies)
For mares in need of more energy in a dietary dose to maintain proper body weight, we recommend Nuba ProMass Mix as a feed additive for Mamma Musli. ProMass is a low starch caloric additive.

Feeding directions
The needs of the mare's body for nutrients change with each month of pregnancy and development of the foal, so the dosage needs to be changed depending on the period:
- 8-11 month of foal: about 600 ÷ 1000 g feed on 100 kg body weight of foal mare, i.e. 3 ÷ 5 kg feed for mares weighing 500 kg
- the first three months of lactation: 900 ÷ 1100 g feed on 100 kg the weight of the mare, i.e. 4,5 ÷ 5,5 kg feed for mare of weight 500 kg
- after the third month of lactation: 600 ÷ 800 g au 100 kg the weight of the mare, i.e. 3 ÷ 4 kg feed for mare of weight 500 kg
In addition to feed, access to good hay quality should be ensured in the amount of minimum 2 % - 3 % mare's body weight, where more is preferred. The mix was balanced with hay with averaged parameters.
Complete feed may also be used as a dietary basis in combination with additional feed containing or added feed, provided that the daily dose is appropriately balanced.
Tips - mare:
-it is very important to observe the condition of the mares in the adjustment of the amount of feed administered, neither to thinning nor to over-fattening - the visible outline of the ribs is a signal that the amount of feed and hay administered should be increased, while with visible fat the supply of feed should be reduced only.
- when using Nuba Musli feed less than recommended, the daily dose should be supplemented with vitamin-mineral supplement Equina Meganutril
- prior to delivery, it is recommended to spread the daily food dose into several small portions
- if the foal does not receive its own feed and eats it to the mother, increase the amount of foal needed
- if the mare has access to good quality pasture and there is no underweight you should choose lower doses
- Horses should have constant access to volumetric feed
-feeds should be administered by weight, not by volume
-it is not recommended to administer more than 2 kg feed for one meal (for a horse of weight 500 ÷ 600 kg , smaller horses, respectively)
- Check regularly that the horse has access to clean water
- give horses access to salt lick and control its intake
-to the horse's diet new products should be introduced gradually
-in case of poor quality hay or pasture, we recommend giving the addition of alfalfa as a supplement to daily feeding
-planning to put the foals off at about 2-3 weeks by disconnect successively reduce the amount of Nuba Mammy Mammy Mummy's feed and introduce the target feed
Tips - foal:
-remember the growing need for foals - as early as the second month of life, the foal needs feed in addition to breast milk and volumetric feed, from 5-6 weekly feed should be given to the Nuba Baby Mix sisaks.
-For a minimum of 2-3 weeks prior to weaning, enter Nuba Young Musli feed
- during lactation, access to water should be provided to the foal
- from around 4 The additional amount of hay should be taken into account for him in the month of age of the foal.
