Grain Free Balance is a grain-free dancer for metabolic horses, ulcers and animals requiring a low starch and sugar diet. The fibre formula does not contain alfalfa or soy, so it can be a good choice also for horses with allergies or food intolerances. The high concentration of vitamins and minerals allows to supplement a diet based on sowing and pasture with a relatively small daily portion of feed.
The formula is based, among other things, on dried chaff from grass, beet pulp beetroot, maize sprouts, biofermented beet leaves, esperce, apple and grape pulp and cold pressed oils. The addition of linseed and linseed oil provides omega-3 fatty acids, and a mixture of herbs including peppermint, fennel, anise, camomile, rosemary, coriander, thyme and nettle enriches diet and promotes proper digestion and appetite.
MEBIO Grain Free Balance feed 14 kg contains 10% crude protein, 17% fiber, 6,8% fat, only 3,7% starch and 9,6% sugar. The energy value is 9,2 MJ digestible energy and 8 MJ metabolic energy per kilogram. Feed also provides calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and sodium, as well as zinc, manganese, copper, selenium, iron, iodine and cobalt. It has been enriched with vitamin A, D3, E and B vitamins, biotin, folic acid, niacin and choline.
The product will be particularly suitable for horses with sensitive food ducts, ulcers, obese, metabolic and well-used feed. The fibre structure prolongs the time of meal intake and promotes more thorough chewing, so Grain Free Balance can also be an alternative to classic bulk feed in horses requiring a reduction in starch and energy.
The recommended daily serving is 100–200 g product for each 100 kg horse's body weight as an additive for bulk or grazing feed. Such a quantity covers the need for vitamins and minerals. With increased effort, the manufacturer recommends 150–200 g for each 100 kg body weight per day, and in case of additional workload, the dose can be increased accordingly. One litre of feed weighs about 400 g. Due to the high concentration of vitamins and micronutrients, the product should not exceed 17,2% of the total daily dietary dose. In older horses, catchy eating or having dental problems and swallowing, the manufacturer recommends wetting the musli with water or giving it after soaking.
